Magic Bullet Mini Review – The NutriBullet Just Got Smaller

If it’s a compact blender that you want, it is hard to beat the Magic Bullet Mini.

This is the little brother of the Nutribullet 900 that Magic Bullet says will make smoothies or ice cold frozen drinks in 10 seconds or less.

In terms of dimensions this blender stands less than 10 inches tall so this will fit in any small home and does one thing well which is making smoothie for people on the go.

Remember that this blender will not make a lot of smoothies. It can only make 12 ounces at a time because it design with the smallest footprint possible.

But the great news is that this machine is quite cheap at just a little over $30.

A large online blog, “The Kitchn” tried this blender and they were pleased with how quickly this machine was able to quickly blend up even recipes with large chunks of ice in it.

They weren’t specific though on what they put in there.

A quick look at the features

  • Comes with 2 small mugs – a 12 and 8 ounce mug
  • Less than 10 inches tall (9” to be specific)
  • Capable of blending, pureeing and making soup recipes
  • Powered by a 120 watt motor (based on an answered question in Amazon)

Pros

  • Great bargain option for budget shoppers
  • Compact size will fit in any kitchen
  • Easy to use – just slide in and twist

Cons

  • Smallish motor will burn out if you leave it on for more than a minute
  • Loud
  • Can only make 12 ounces at a time

What to expect from this compact blender

This blender is one of the smallest (if not the smallest) in the market right now standing at just 9 inches tall.

The small footprint make this ideal for people living inside small apartments or mobile homes looking for something compact that can help them quickly make smoothies or frozen drinks quickly without having to fiddle with preset controls.

It comes with 2 small mugs, one lid and a blade attachment that you can use on the two mugs.

These two mugs can store 12 and 8 oz. which basically is like drinking a can of soda – just to give you a real life reference on the quantity it can blend.

Based on one answer in the “Customer Questions & Answers” section in Amazon this machine is equipped with 120 watt motor.

What can this make?

This machine is primarily designed to make smoothies for people who want something fast and easy to clean.

But this product is limited just making smoothies.

If you look at their website, it does more than smoothies. It is capable to make soups (albeit single serve quantities only), dips and sauces. If you have a child, this machine is also capable of making baby food.

I wouldn’t recommend consuming this but this blender is capable of turning M&M’s and Oreo sticks into a sand-like texture…

Comparing the Magic Bullet versus the NutriBullet in terms of blending a mix of greens, namely kale and celery and frozen fruit.

It also demos how it performs making protein shakes and milkshakes…

The key takeaway here is while the Magic Bullet is comparable to the Nutribullet in terms of making protein shakes and milk shakes. It will struggle a bit if you want to add leafy greens and/or frozen fruit into your meals.

Based on the video above, the Magic Bullet lacks the power to make smooth milk shakes or frozen fruit/vegetable smoothies.

Is it easy to clean?

Yes, the small size of the mugs and blades make this faster to clean up when you compare it to full sized blenders like a Blendtec or a Vitamix.

Warranty

It comes with one year warranty but you can purchase an extended warranty through the Magic Bullet Mini website.

Consumer Reviews

As expected, a lot of consumers like this product because it’s compact.

Consumers loved how compact this machine is making it easy to clean and some even brought this to their workplace so that they could enjoy a healthy glass of fresh smoothie.

In terms of power, consumers were pretty satisfied with how quick this product was able to blend smoothie recipes, albeit a relatively small amount. It will struggle though if you put in a lot of veggies or frozen fruit.

The biggest downside in my book is the smallish motor because you cannot run this for more than a minute without risking burning out the motor and it will struggle with leafy greens as all small blenders tend to.

This is a big reason why you’ll see complaints about the motor breaking down after a few months – a reason being that consumers may be turning on the motor for more than a minute.

Overall this product has gotten solid reviews because of its compactness and as long as you don’t overfill the cups, it is fully capable of making smooth shakes in under 10 seconds.

Where can I buy this?

You can buy this compact blender in Amazon for just a little over $30. And it’ll be eligible to their free 2-day shipping if you join Prime.

Extended warranties are also available of up to 4 years if you need that extra peace of mind.

Conclusion

This compact blender is great for folks looking for a really small blender capable of making fruit shakes, protein shakes or smoothies. But don’t expect the same quality that larger blenders give like the NutriNinja, Vitamix or Blendtec as this will struggle in terms of blending greens and frozen fruit (if you put in too much).

While consistency will be an issue, price will not be because for just under $30, you can buy a quality compact blender that is capable of making single serve smoothies.

It is a great starter kit for people looking to clean up their diet (through drinking healthy smoothies) but cannot afford something that costs over $100.

The small footprint is a major plus because this will fit in anywhere you can even bring this with you when you go out of town.

  1. Magic Bullet mini is complete junk. Cut up an apple into small chunks and fill the jug half full . The MBM will not, can not puree the apple. The chunks never settle to the blades. It will grind up granola but that is about it. Do not purchase if you think you will fill the fruit and hare

  2. I have one, absolutely love it and looking for another one, add a bit of water or apple juice to your apple and its great….I also fill it 3/4 way up, where the indicator is…been using it for more than a year and still going strong….
