Buying a good quality blender nowadays does not require spending over $400 as it would five years ago.
With brands such as CleanBlend, Oster, Hamilton Beach, and this brand Cosor, a high powered blender is more affordable than ever.
Like CleanBlend and Vitamix, the Cosori 1,500 watt blender is capable of making more than a cup of smoothie.

What to expect from the Cosori blender?
The Cosori blender is another Vitamix-clone that offers similar power and performance for much less.
In terms of design, it has the same interface and pitcher design. But this one also comes with a smaller travel bottle so that you can bring smoothies to work or gym.
Components in this blender are BPA free which means you don’t have to worry about chemicals seeping through anything you put inside the pitcher.
It also has UL certification so it has past strict tests and is safe to use.
6 Prong Blades
Unlike the Vitamix that only has a 4 prong blade design, this blender has 6 prongs!
There’s a 4-prong blade on top and another 2-prong blade at the bottom that helps scrape off stuff that the other blade cannot reach.
This means a smoother smoothie and finer grounded coffee beans (if you like coffee).
Motor
The first similarity would be the motor. This blender comes with a strong 2-hp motor that produces 1,500 watts of power that spins the blades at 30,000 rpm.
A knob controls the speed of the blade which gives you more control on how fine or chunky you’d like your recipes to be.
Interface
The interface is simple – you’ve got two toggle switches that flank a dial in the middle.
The middle dial is there to control the blade from low to high setting. On the left are the pulse and soup setting. And on the right is the on/off switch.
The soup setting is the only preset option that I can see on the interface.
To make soups or sorbets, you will have to refer to the recipe book for the exact settings for different types of recipes.
What can this make?
There’s a lot of stuff you can make with this blender. Aside from smoothies and shakes, it can crush ice, blend sorbets, hot soup and even mix a batter.
To give you an idea of what this can make just take a look at these sample recipes inside the recipe book.
- Homemade Sriracha Ketchup
- Pesto Sauce
- Chimichurri Paste
- Lemon Dressing
- Restaurant Style Pasta
- Avocado Salsa
- Enchilada Sauce
- Arrabiata Pizza Sauce
- Blistered Tomato Soup
- Broccoli Cheddar Soup
All of these gourmet quality recipes you can make at the comfort of your home. So this machine can save you money because you don’t need to eat out to get a good quality meal.
The soup recipes itself is a good reason to buy this in my opinion.
Powerful motor
All this is possible thanks to the 2-hp, 1,500-watt motor and the six blades that sit at the bottom of the 64-ounce pitcher.
If you look closely at the pitcher, it is clear that Cosori got its design cues from the Vitamix which isn’t a bad thing because the design works!
And it comes with a tamper that helps with making stuff like nut butter or sorbets.
Making hot soup
Perhaps my favorite feature would be the ability of this machine to make hot soup even without heating ingredients on a stove thanks to the blades spinning at 30,000 rpm.
The lid on top has vents in to let steam out and keep it safe from the pressure building up inside.
Blades are also sharp enough turn coffee beans (or any other beans) into a fine powder.
What I like about the blade design are the two extra prongs that bend down to reach ingredients the other four cannot reach.
Is it easy to clean?
This blender comes with a cleaning brush that makes handwashing safer and easier.
What most people suggest when cleaning a high-speed blender like this is fill up the pitcher halfway, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid then crank the motor up to the max for about 30 seconds then rinse.
Just rinse it well enough so there will
Make sure to rinse well though so you don’t get soapy residue left behind.
You can also use a dishwasher to wash this if that is your preference. But I’d recommend handwashing because it’s more thorough and in most cases faster as long as you don’t let residue dry up.

What do consumers say?
One thing that consumers love about this blender is how versatile it is. Not only will it make a cup of smoothie but it’ll also make a hot bowl of soup without a stove!
It’s a Vitamix rip-off according to one review, but he did not mind because of the price difference.
Vitamix clone
Cosori copied pretty much everything from the Vitamix. But it’s got one thing over a Vitamix which is blade design.
Pretty much all Vitamix blenders from the first generation TurboBlend to the latest generation Ascent series all come with a four prong blade.
This one has six – one four prong blade on top and a two-prong blade at the bottom that scoops up everything that the four-prong blade misses.
Taller than a Vitamix
It’s slightly taller than the Vitamix TurboBlend, so it’s around 20″ tall more or less. The space between your countertop and cabinet is less than 20″ this will not fit – double check first before purchasing this.
The lid has a silicone seal that makes it airtight once it’s on and the lid on top locks in place.
Fit and finish of the tamper and 27-ounce bottle isn’t as good as the blender itself according to some reviews.
There were some complaints about the motor dying but it’s the minority, and that’s why you have a warranty to cover these issues.
Where to buy this?
The only place where you can buy this is in Amazon where this sells for less than $90. If the short 2-year warranty is a concern get the extended warranty offered in Amazon.
Another reason to buy Amazon will be the 2-day free shipping if you sign up to Prime.
To Wrap Up
If you’re looking for something cheaper than a Vitamix 5200 with variable speed control, then this is one of the best options out there aside from CleanBlend.
It’s got a commercial grade motor that’s powerful but unfortunately very noisy.
Add to that the six prong blade that will chop everything you throw at it. In short, this machine is a workhorse capable of multiple tasks inside the kitchen.
The short warranty is a concern, but you can purchase the 4-year extended warranty for a little over $7. And it’s got a 30-day money back guarantee. So make sure to put this in its paces if you plan on buying this.
