When Ninja burst into the scent a few years back, their main goal was to challenge Nutribullet as top dog in the compact blender scene. But somehow as the years went by that goal was derailed somewhat.

If you look at their product line, it’s a mish mash of compact, 2-in-1 and full sized blenders. It seems that they’re trying to compete with Vitamix as well.

So it seems that they are trying to be the jack of all trades when it comes to blenders. The Ninja Fit QB3001SS is the closest thing Ninja has right now to the Nutribullet with its button-less interface and sip and seal cups.

Let’s take a close look at this compact blender and see how it matches up against the Bullet.

First let’s look at the features of the Ninja Fit…

  • 700-watt motor with pulse function
  • Comes with two 16-oz. Nutri Ninja Cups, two Sip & Seal lids
  • Capable of crushing ice and frozen fruit
  • It is dishwasher safe
  • 1 year warranty

Pros

  • Compact size is great for making single serve smoothies
  • Has enough power to crush ice and frozen fruit (you’ll have to add some water though or burn out the motor)
  • Easy to clean because of the compact size
  • More rigid blades than the Nutribullet 600 and 900
  • Good quality cups

Cons

  • Short one year warranty
  • Noisy
  • Plastic gears under the blade may wear out quickly over time

What to expect from the Ninja Fit?

The Ninja Fit is built for one purpose alone – to make smoothies, with or without ice. And probably a better option than the first generation Nutribullet thanks to the stiffer blades.

Its 700-watt motor is more powerful and strong enough to make just about any type of smoothie you can think of. You can even blend frozen fruit with it if that’s your preference.

Pulse

The Fit also comes with a pulse function that will come in handy when blending stuff like ice and frozen fruit. It’s the only preset control that it has and is engaged when you push the cup down.

Motor

It comes with a 700-watt motor that’s 100 watts more than the first generation Nutribullet. If you have toddlers, I must warn you that this motor is loud and may scare them.

Two 16-ounce cups

Out of the box you’ll get two 16-ounce cups that’ll make just enough smoothies for one. If you have a big family then this blender isn’t for you but for single serve drinks this is a great option because it is compact and powerful.

Busy folks who want to eat healthy will appreciate that this variant comes with sip and seal lids that you can cover the cups with. These lids are airtight so contents inside the cup will not spill.

So you can bring these cups to the gym or in the office. But make sure to drink it quickly because it’ll spoil within the day.

Four prong blade

One thing I like about the Ninja Fit would be the blade and how Ninja went about designing it. Instead of using a two-prong blade with blunt edges, theirs is sharp and pointed. This means better crushing power and more consistent results.

It also is stiffer than the Nutribullet (I’m talking about the first and second generation) so there’s less of a chance of leaking.

Warranty

All Ninja blenders come with a 1-year warranty. Fortunately Amazon sells extended warranties of up to 4 years if you want that extra peace of mind.

What can this blender make?

This blender is made for one thing and one thing only – to make smoothies. The 700-watt motor has just enough power and torque to crush ice, fruits (frozen or not) and greens.

Here’s a demo on how the Ninja Fit does on green juice with spinach, avocado, apple and lemon. You’ll need to skip to the 4 minute mark to see it in action…

The results are impressive considering avocado, banana and spinach are notoriously difficult to blend.

I’d go as far to say that you can use this to make stuff like hummus if you love such recipes.

Here’s another video of the Ninja Fit blending frozen fruit and water…

Remember that if you want something thick and filling add less water. But if you want something more watery and runny then add more water.

This blender will only work with liquid, if you don’t add any liquid you will burn out the motor. Always remember that for this to machine to last long.

Overall the results were impressive and considering that this blender is just only a few bucks more expensive than the Nutribullet, I’d go with this over the latter.

Is this easy to clean?

The sheer compactness of this blender makes it easy to clean. If you’re cleaning it by hand be careful when cleaning the blades because these are sharp. You also have the option to throw it in the dishwasher on the top rack.

But you don’t really need a dishwasher to clean this unless you’re really lazy. Rinsing it immediately after blending will often times be enough.

What consumers say?

Lots of consumers like how this blender performs, they say that it was consistent and had pretty good power. It’s a big reason why it has gotten an “Amazon’s Choice” seal of approval because it has fewer returns and lots of 4 star ratings.

The reviews don’t lie.

As long as it fits in the small 16 ounce cups, this blender will turn whole fruit and vegetables into a smooth smoothie. Maybe not as smooth as a Vitamix but heck, you don’t have to pay $400 for this machine right?

If there is one knock on this machine it would be the size of the cups. Most complaints I see with this blender points to the small 16-ounce cups that you can’t put a lot of stuff in.

This blender is only great for making single serve drinks. And if you overfill these cups, there is a risk of leakage which is something you’d expect. That’s an easy fit really, come up with a 20 or 24 ounce cup and be done with it.

Another potential issue would be the rubber gear that will wear down the road. That’s why if you’re considering buying this for the long haul then get the 4 year extended warranty. It doesn’t cost much.

Where can I buy this?

You can buy this blender from Amazon for less than $60. And it is eligible for the free 2-day shipping if you join Prime.

Amazon also sells extended warranties of up to 4 years if you think the 1-year warranty is too short. And it won’t cost a lot – less than $10. It’s one of the big reasons why I recommend buying from them.

To Wrap Up

The Ninja Fit is a blender that will truly make you fit. In my opinion this compact machine is a better option than the first generation Nutribullet because it has a better blade design and overall quality.

It’s also has a bit more power which means more consistency and better results when it comes to making green smoothies. If you’re looking to make smoothies and don’t want to spend a lot of money then the Ninja Fit is a good start. They also include a cookbook in the package to help get you started.
