But when the time comes for the real consumers to use their products it fails to deliver results.
While their watt figures are high, they lack torque. And eventually fail when you put use it to make hard to make recipes like nut butter or frozen dessert.
The Vitamix 7500 is a different animal.

Versatile machine
This machine is probably the most versatile blender in the market today thanks to its 2.2 horsepower motor that has around 1,440 watts on tap.
More than the horsepower figures, what you’ll get with this machine is a torque and lots of it.
When you combine the powerful motor with the precision laser cut blade that spin at a blistering 37,000 rpm (at the highest setting), you have a machine that will pulverize literally anything you put into it.
These include fruits, ice and even a large block of cheese.
The biggest question mark is it worth high price tag.
That’s what we will find out in this review as I share with you the features, product specifications, what this bad boy can make and more.
Similar to the 5200
Feature wise this machine is similar to the Vitamix 5200.
It does not have preset controls only a speed-dial and a pulse setting.
But it is a robust machine for the health junkie or all-around foodie who only wants to eat the homemade recipes and needs a tool that can make those recipes for them day in and day out.

First let’s look at the features of the Vitamix 7500

The good
- Probably the most powerful blender in the market today
- Simple control layout make this one of the simplest blenders to use
- You can just about blend anything from leafy green vegetables, fruits, ice, nut butter, etc.
- Low profile blender will fit under most cabinets
- Long warranty
The bad
- At over $500 this is very expensive – you can buy something cheaper if you’re only buying something to make only smoothies or soup
- It does not have any preset options, so you pretty much have to manually time how long you’ll blend each recipe
- Not dishwasher friendly
What to expect from the Vitamix 7500?
The 7500 shares the same DNA as the 5200 in terms of the control layout and motor. Difference would be the motor. the 7500 has a more powerful motor (2.2 hp vs 2.0 hp) and a larger blade diameter.
Another addition worth noting is the pulse button.
In terms of noise, both the 5200 and 7500 are the same despite having more noise dampening.
Shorter container
With the shorter but wider pitcher, Vitamix was able to cut the vertical footprint down to around 17.5 inches. This is around 2.5 inches shorter than the 5200 and 6300.
It will fit under more countertops but make no mistake that it is still a tall blender.
Stainless steel blade
Like all Vitamix blenders, the blades are cut using a laser and is made from stainless steel.
The 7500 comes with a wider 4 inch blade which cuts better and will pulverize food better than most blenders in the market.
BPA free
The 64 ounce pitcher is made from BPA free and shatter-proof Eastman Tritan copolyester plastic but it isn’t dishwasher safe so you will have to handwash this.
Variable speed
At the middle of the control panel, you’ll see a dial that controls speed of the blade. This will give you more control on how chunky or smooth you want the recipes to be.
Pulse
One feature that separate the 7500 to earlier generation Vitamix blenders like the 5200 would be the pulse feature. This is very helpful on recipes like guacamole where very little chopping is needed.
What can this make?
The powerful 2.2 horsepower motor spins the stainless steel blades at a blistering 37,000 rpm which make this one of the most powerful blenders in the market.
The you combine the precision cut stainless steel blades, the motor’s power and torque. And the shape of the pitcher that forces the ingredients back down where the blade is.
This machine can pulverize anything you throw at it.
Torture test
In fact CNet did a torture test and blended everything from smoothies, almond butter, pesto, a block of cheese and pancake mix and the 7500 performed exceptionally well on all these tests.
In their smoothie consistency test, the 7500 aced this test, tying the Blendtec Wildside and the Breville Hemisphere (the latter is cheaper but only comes with a 1 year warranty).
Smoothies

Even without adding any water, the 7500 was able to blend the fruits into a smooth finish with the help of a tamper and it only took around a minute to do so.
But if you’re just buying a blender to make smoothies, the 7500 could be overkill so let’s see what other recipes this blender can make.
Soup
Here’s a demonstration of making tortilla soup…
Basically what you do is throw in all the dry ingredients then blend it for a few seconds then add the spices then hot water.
Safe for hot liquids
Don’t worry the pitcher can take hot liquid and the cover allows steam to pass through. So there is little risk of the liquid leaking through.
The longer you turn on the machine the hotter the soup gets.
If like homemade soup then this machine is a great tool to have because you don’t need to heat it over an oven, the friction from the blades heats it up for you.

You’ll have to leave the blender on high for about six minutes for this recipe but don’t worry Vitamix has equip this blender with a better cooling system and it will be able to handle the stress on the motor when blending this type of recipe.
The end product is a hot bowl of delicious broccoli soup that you don’t need to heat on a stove.
Hummus

In around a minute or so, you have your own hummus that you can eat hot or chilled.
One of the toughest recipes to make in any consumer grade blender is peanut butter.
Nut butter
Here’s a short video on how to make one at home. And save yourself a fortune from buying “healthy” peanut butter from health shops.
This recipe includes a pound of unsalted peanuts, half tablespoon of sesame oil and a tablespoon of maple syrup (this is optional, if you don’t want your peanut butter sweet don’t add this).
There you have it, homemade smooth peanut butter without the added preservatives and sugars found in most commercially store bought variants.
The great thing about this is you know what you put in and you don’t consume preservatives that are harmful to your body in the long run.
Is this easy to clean?
Even though you cannot cleaning this using a dishwasher, cleaning any Vitamix blender is easy.
But you have to follow a simple principle. Clean it immediately after using it. Especially if you’re making recipe that contains any sort of oil because if these dry up it will be a pain to clean.
Vitamix recommends that you fill up the pitcher about half full of water, add a few drops of dish washing soap then pulse for half a minute then rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Store it upside down afterwards so all the excess water runs down and does not corrode the metal parts.
Warranty
All Vitamix blenders come with a full 7 year warranty. That means if something breaks within that 7 year period, you are covered.

What consumers think?
In terms of performance, the response was overwhelming, the vast majority of consumers who left a review on Amazon and other review sites say that this machine has gobs of power on tap.
Versatile
From making smoothies, crushing ice and to pulverizing nuts into nut butter – this machine performed very well.
As you’ve seen in the YouTube videos I shared above this machine is capable of blending anything you put in it.
Blending cheese
Ryan Crist, a product review from CNet was gushing when he tested the 7500, saying that that the performance of this machine will pull you in.
To give you a refresher here’s the review…
Sure there were complaints of this machine stalling and not even blending a cake batter recipe. But that could be a defective unit that you can easily replace using the warranty.
The new and improved cooling system allows you to use this blender for longer periods without tripping the overheating sensor and shutting this machine down.
The biggest concern for some consumers would be the issue of the teflon particles that several consumers reported.
This is not an issue solely on this model but across the Vitamix product line, it go so big that Buzzfeed picked it up and shared it in their blog.
But this seems to be a minor issue for consumers who gave a high rating, some even reported doing the same test and not getting any black specs so this is a highly debatable topic.
This issue is more prevalent in older Vitamix models. But in newer ones it seems to be in the minority.

To Wrap Up
This blender is great for people who are busy in the kitchen making a lot of homemade recipes. The 7500 is more than just a smoothie maker, this machine can crush ice, make peanut butter, blend and heat up soup, make cake batter and much more.
In the test done by CNet, this blender was able to make the smoothest smoothie but the big question is would you spend $500 just for a smoothie maker. If the answer is yes then consider cheaper options like the Oster Pro 1200 or the Cleanblend that are a few hundred dollars cheaper.
But if you need the extended heavy duty power of a 7500 to make cake batters, hot soups, frozen desserts or peanut butter or you can afford this type of kitchen utensil then go for it and enjoy the high quality blending plus the long 7 year warranty.
